Another excellent performance by So Dapper, in winning the Meredith Kitchens Class 1 Handicap over 1600m at the Sunshine Coast, on Melbourne Cup Day.
Again well supported in the market into odds on, the son of So You Think was very stylish in gliding across from a wider barrier, and jockey Larry Cassidy seemed to be in control of the race from a long way out. Once they straightened he moved to the outside of the leader, and sprinted quickly to win by 2 lengths. A couple of late flicks with the whip kept his mind on the job, and it seemed there was more in the tank for next time.
According to delighted trainer John Symons, he will continue to work through the grades, and be a better racehorse each time, prior to rushing him to the stronger, weekend, city meetings.
Congratulations to owners Cameron and Rodney Bain!
