A great day out at Wangaratta on Tuesday, 10th November when six JSL horses went to their 800m Jump Out Event.
Superbly ridden by ex-NZ jockey, Chris Brown, every horse was educated to get to the line first and there were plenty of surprises in store for some of the JSL team who wouldn’t normally get warm over such a short trip.
First cab off the rank was MEWSTONE ROCK who settled just behind the leaders in the initial stages and then really found extra gears in the straight to win comfortably at the line.
BUNGLE BOORI jumped mid field, was a little lost in the straight but was angled out into the middle of the track and then really surged to the line to win by ½ head. Great effort to see this potential stayer muster such acceleration at her second outing.
IRISH CONSTABULARY has shown plenty on the training track but to see him settle midfield and then win with such consummate ease augurs well for his race day appearance in the not too distant future.
DENONINATOR was extra impressive, as he hardly gets warm over 1400m, let alone be able to compete over 800m! He settled behind mid-field and then really put in the last 100m to fly to the line at the finish. Great to see him produce such a performance.
DANZA KUDURO settled nicely behind the leaders too and then surged to the lead from half way down the straight, going to the line with plenty in hand. Danza has really matured as a four year old and looks a very exciting racing proposition this time in.
MOHINI was ultra-impressive, leaving the barriers lengths in front of the rest of the field and she just kept kicking away to win by a huge ten lengths at the line. Again, another horse who has really appreciated her spell and matured incredibly into a very nice four year old mare.
With Jacqueric, Royal Mephisto and Simply Ming looking to be competitive in whatever they do next, it looks like we are in for a very exciting time.
Remember there are opportunities still to get into Irish Constabulary and Bungle Boori.
