After the hectic period around Christmas and the Magic Millions sales and races, the stable has been a little quiet with the majority of horses spelling in readiness for the late autumn/winter carnival.
This has given John and Sheila a chance for a short break in New Zealand, albeit with plenty of time spent at the Karaka sales and visits to various studs looking at some fabulous yearlings, with a view to bolstering the numbers with some more quality stock.
It has been very successful, and we recently placed on our “Horses Available” page four tremendous yearlings, which are all selling very well, so we do encourage you to take a look and get on board. Click here: Horses Available
Packages of horses are available from 2.5%, which is a great, economical way of getting to the races more often whilst minimising the cost. It is a great social initiative to get a few friends together, form a syndicate and have some fun racing! Let us know if you need more information.
John returned this week and visited the spelling horses up at Golden Gully, and pleasingly a number of the big guns will return to the stables this week. Surely the names of Irish Constabulary, Bronzegate and Mewstone Rock (especially!) are due for that little bit of extra luck needed to take them to the top this campaign!!
Younger promising horses like Kiriana, So Dapper and the So You Think/Zali colt will also return shortly and we look forward to that with great anticipation.
In addition the Fiorente gelding, the unraced Swiss Ace filly and Testa Rossa colt will shortly be named as they continue their education and start their faster work to see how many gears they have.
We welcome the many owners of the well performed Bronzed Venom to the Esprit Racing stable, and will see how he adapts from injury to our successful training regime. We hope to see him back to his best.
On the website, we have introduced the opportunity for new visitors to the website to become “Friends of Esprit Racing”, and a number of people have taken that opportunity, so welcome! We will look to be far more regular with our stable news updates, and expect it will be a very busy time. Follow Facebook and twitter as well to keep up with the stable social media.
Incredibly we are in mid-February already, the rich Melbourne and Sydney carnivals are underway, and the mighty Winx is back to her wonderful best as she starts her farewell campaign. Let’s hope that the next Winx has Esprit Racing colours on when one of our youngsters gets to the races!
