A very good win last night for promising 3yo Knight’s Choice in the KIMBERLEY KAMPERS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap.

Jockey Michael Hellyer was determined to give the son of Extreme Choice plenty of open air, as he had been blocked for running for the entire straight in two of his races.

Out to 1600m for the first time, he settled well back from a tricky draw given the rail was out 9m which had made it difficult for horses to make ground out wide on the camber.

This didn’t stop this fellow, however, and he put his head down and charged out after the leader in the straight to run away and win conclusively.

Obviously, he is going places and the way he hit the line indicated that there are more wins in store as he is a real competitor.

The dam Midnight Pearl is well known to John Symons and stable followers, with 7 race wins, and she is a sister to stable star Denoninator and listed placed Sea Spray. With Extreme Choice being such an exciting sire, the purchase was an easy one for John at the 2021 Gold Coast Magic Millions sale.

Congratulations to the Symons Laxon Racing team, and to owners Cameron Bain and Richard and Kaye Waldron.
