It’s been a long cold dismal winter, and, as usual, the July has seen a great number of heavy winter tracks with race meetings cancelled because of the ‘unsafe’ race surfaces. A great deal of racing has taken place on the Geelong and the new Pakenham synthetic surfaces instead.
John and Sheila have, therefore, taken the opportunity to freshen up the team, and themselves, in readiness for an assault on the spring and summer months.
Horses like Royal Mephisto, Jacqueric, Simply Ming and Prie Dieu were sent for their short breaks, looking and feeling in great condition, and have returned to training jumping out of their skins. Looking forward to seeing what these horses can do when they get back on to the racetracks in the coming weeks.
The exciting young ladies in Danza Kuduro, Mewstone Rock, Mohini and Bexstar will all benefit from their time off in terms of maturity, and will return to training shortly to get ready for their Spring campaigns.
Irish Constabulary is looking magnificent, and getting closer to trial stage. Lease shares are still available – he is a magnificent type and should show his prowess on the racetrack. Check the website under Horses Available!
Similarly a number of unraced and unnamed horses, such as the Zupaone and Pentire progeny are starting to put in on the training track.
Breeding News – the owners of a number of well known broodmares are looking to offer them to potential breeding to win enthusiasts so jump on the JSL website now (under Stable News) to view the options for the upcoming breeding season.
So, with the hint of spring in the air, things are starting to warm up in the stable, and everyone is looking forward to the team showing a brilliant turn of foot in this new season of racing!
