Denoninator added to his tally with another Eagle Farm victory, backing up after last week’s win.

Ridden by Jeff Lloyd, Denoninator settled in his customary style towards the rear and in a slowly run race had some work to do as the field turned for home, but he quickly strode up and was strongest to the line, winning by a length. Given the leaders ran the last 600m in 34.1, his time in coming from last and widest of all, must have been excellent.

Trainers John and Sheila paid credit to injured apprentice Sarah Eilbeck who would’ve been in the running to ride the gelding had she not suffered a back injury. Sarah fractured a verterbrae in her lower back in a track fall last week. She had spent countless hours with the horse so deserves plenty of credit getting him to race as he now is.

But  premiership jockey Jeff Lloyd, off the back of 5 winners last weekend, was a handy replacement and said that Denoninator was an emerging talent, and a nice stayer in the making.

In a beautiful Brisbane day, it was great to see another win, and by all accounts a big afternoon was had!
