A deserving Come by Chance won his maiden today with an excellent all the way performance on the Sunshine Coast. Ridden positively by premier jockey Jeff Lloyd, who took full advantage of his inside barrier draw, Come By Chance led and appeared to be in control of the race a long way out. He darted away prior to the turn, and charged strongly to the line.
The gelding had been unlucky not to win in recent starts, and it was good to see the initiative taken by the jockey, and the horse respond to tactics that were not customary for him.
We can look forward to Come By Chance stepping up in journey now and hopefully he can work through his classes as impressively as he was today.
