We have secured the opportunity to lease this big, solid staying type from WA. By Awesome Rock out of a Show A Heart mare, he is just on 17 hands, and it seems obvious that the further the journey, the better he will get. He has never trialled, having had lot of time to mature, but his riders have indicated that he feels superb to ride.

Quiet and with a great temperament, he would seem an excellent prospect to commence our successful staying regime at Macedon Lodge, especially with the success the Awesome Rock progeny have had in staying races in WA.

The way the lease works:

• Lease is for 3 years with lessees having first right to extend the lease. Obviously upon agreement, if he doesn’t race to expectations the lease can be ceased earlier.
• Upfront cost will be $150 for each 5% taken, to support transport costs to Macedon Lodge.
• Instead of an upfront purchase, the lessor/owner relies on prizemoney for a return.
• He will be paid a gross 20% of prizemoney prior to distribution. So, if it is a $100K 1st prize, trainer receives 10%, jockey 5% and lessor/owner 20%, and the remainder is distributed pro rata to lessees.
• Lessees only pay the monthly fee to knigghts, suggest to budget about $300 for each 5% share over the course of a year.
