Connections of both Thunder Mania and Mission of Love were tickled pink when they quinellaed the CALOUNDRA RSL SUB BRANCH BENCHMARK 65 Handicap over 1200m at Sunshine Coast today.
After taking such a long time to get back to the winner’s enclosure at Warwick recently, Thunder had performed well on the tight Kilcoy track before getting back to the more spacious surface at home, and he showed he still has it with a stylish win with Vlad Duric aboard.
Mission of Love similarly loved the track and the firmer conditions ripping home late from the rear to run second; she impressed rider Robbie Dolan and looks to have some wins in store as she rises in distance.
The team is racing well, earning prizemoney in 15 of the last 20 starts, and now the horses are getting fitter with some continuity of finer weather and access to grass trackwork we should see more wins.
