A third win in succession for smart 3yo Knight’s Choice in the BRC MEMBERSHIP ON SALE NOW QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 65 Handicap at Doomben today gives John Symons and Sheila Laxon the opportunity to seriously consider taking on the hometown Winx Guineas on July 1.
With Jaden Lloyd taking a 1.5kg claim off his back in the small field of 7, he was close enough on the turn if good enough, and that he was as he showed his customary burst of speed to quickly round up his rivals to win by a length or more.
Jaden gave him every opportunity and was impressed by today’s performance when he spoke in his post race interview to owners.
That’s another $21,000 prizemoney in the kitty today, making it $62,000 in this his first campaign. That should be sufficient to be in contention to race in the big Sunshine Coast mile, now named after the great mare Winx who started her incredible run to glory by winning from last in her year. John and Sheila will no doubt see how he pulls up in the next few days before committing to the race, but the way he keeps improving must see him being competitive.
Great to have owner Cameron Bain on track today; he and Richard and Kaye Waldron have had a smashing month or so; well done to them!
Of course congratulations go to the Symons Laxon Racing team; he presented in tremendous condition today and ran right up to his looks.
