After being out of the winner’s stall with a frustrating run of placings and bad luck, the big black gelding Denoninator had his day to shine with an outstanding win at Doomben today in a strong staying performance over 2200m.

Settling towards the rear with a strong tempo, jockey Sarah Eilbeck left nothing to chance, making her run from the 800m mark. She allowed the big striding gelding to surge around the field, and despite covering ground three and four wide, charged to the lead early in the straight and held off late challengers.

Sarah, John, Sheila and the stalwart group of JSL Racing Australasia owners were all thrilled with the effort, which was extremely well deserved.

Looking forward to Denoninator putting together more wins in the lovely Queensland sun.
