After showing some very strong form in his lead up trials, Denoninator raced in tremendous style to win first up at 1400m at Benalla today.

Ridden beautifully to John Symons’ instruction by Jye McNeil, the big black horse was able to keep up with the pace, and although ridden along to do so, loomed ominously behind them on the turn.

With hearts in mouths, he was able to take the small gap as it opened and he pounced on the lead to win by a small margin; small but convincing, as he was just getting to top stride.

After a frustrating campaign where he hurt his mouth in a race when expected to win, and subsequently lost form, he looks to be ready to fulfil his potential this time in.

A great result for all concerned, and the win is proof of the fine fettle these JSL horses are currently in.

May the success continue as hit late spring and early summer!
